If you are a business person, an officer, a motivational speaker or a lawyer, you may be traveling a lot and always carrying some of your personal things with you. But there are some things that you just cannot take along in a practical manner. When speed is more important than money, you are ready to rent them. Thus, we rent a room, rent a car, and can even rent a laptop and a projector, for instance.

Laptop rental services are readily available in many major cities. You can find them upon searching online. Rates vary from less than $20 per machine per day to a few hundred dollars for the latest models. Some companies lease out laptop computers along with a wide range of other equipment.
Obviously, at this level, one has their personal notebook. But, let’s say you need to attend a fair, 500 miles from home and want to put up a nice presentation. And you found out about it just yesterday! You wouldn’t want to leave your sensitive information in anybody’s hands, plus you will need it. You would need another computer. Because you’re traveling, it might be cheaper and simpler to rent the equipment rather than lugging everything around.
Another possible use is, for example, if you employ a fairly constantnumber of people at your company, but seasonally you have an activity surge. Orders are pouring in, you hire some temps and of course, you need some new hardware. But buying it for just a few months might not be such a wise investment. Renting a few machines might be just what you need. The same goes for surprise projects, which you simply cannot afford to pass by.
Likewise, you may be giving seminars and, again, traveling quite a bit.Renting a room always comes with the task and hiring a local assistant can be a great help. Here you may also need a laptop, a projector, roll-up screen and a couple of speakers. They all go pretty well together and there are companies who know this and are ready to provide you with what you need.
Here’s another scenario: you need to make a demonstration for a software application you have been developing. Of course, you tested everything in your Matrix-style lab, but when you want to show off the final product, you may want to polish up a bit and have some shiny Macs nicely presenting your hard work.
Another situation might be if, say, you travel and have an important meeting with the board of directors of some major corporation in a scenic, but secluded area. So secluded, they only have food and lodging. If you really want to impress, you can bring the 21st century in the middle of the bushes and drive the point home with your top of the line presentation. Then let everybody chew it over with their steak. You’ll definitely need a few laptops, perhaps some projectors, a sound system… and the grill and the steak, of course.
Finally, here are some reasons for which you might want to rent a pc (portable or not), and not buy it. When it’s yours, it comes with all the headaches: maintenance, storage, licenses, disposal, and downtime costs. When it’s rented, all these cares will be transferred to somebody else. You get the steak.
